Savannah - Leila Rose Crosby, 95, died February 11, 2011 at Azalealand Nursing Home. She was born December 24, 1915 in Savannah, daughter of the late George Washington Crosby and Leila Rustin Crosby. Miss Crosby retired after more than 25 years as a tax assessor with the Chatham County Tax Assessors Office. She was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church and attended Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Shekinah Spiral Women's Group. Most important to her was her family as she loved travelling the world with her mother and was a regular patron of Johnny Harris Restaurant. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Oscar M. Crosby, George W. Crosby and nephew, Craig R. Crosby.
Surviving are niece, Sallie Crosby Vaughan Scott of Savannah; nephews, Marshall Crosby Kathy, Walter Crosby Nancy, Barry Crosby of Savannah; Keith Crosby Teri of Green Bay, WI; great nieces, Grace Crosby and Anna Crosby of Green Bay, WI; great nephews, Oscar Marshall, II, Daniel Vaughan and William Vaughan of Savannah; Betty Hall Crosby of Savannah.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.
